Hi, my name is Luis Godoy and I'm going to talk about how to create Bottled vinegar, this are Polypropylene recycle bottles, these are one of principal materials we are going to use in the process, first the workers put the recycled bottled in this machine to crush them, this is how it looks like after the machine complete its work, after this process is finished the workers move the crushed Polypropylene bottles to this machine that they called “the Sopladora” this machine is the one that creates the new bottles as you can see here. The next step is to rip all the extra material that the new bottles have attached when they come out of the sopladora. After that, they put the bottles in this machine to cut their upper part, so they can look like this.

In another part of the factory another group of workers have to mix the Acetic Acid with Water to create the vinegar using an specific measured cup to mix the right proportions. Next, the workers start the filling process using a tank where the mix is stored. After that they put the caps on, and next, they start the labeling process using glue and a paintbrush. And that is how you create bottled vinegar! Thanks for watching! bye

About the course: It was different from others courses, we did interesting stuff, using internet as the principal communication route, we watched cool videos, and the teacher was always in a good mood.

This article was about a new product in the measurement area, that is one of the most important areas in the industry related with the quality of the product which involves inspections, and analysis among others, with the purpose of creating better products and increase efficiency, this company created this technology that came out, with smaller size and more accuracy that other of its kind.

FARO, providers of portable computer-aided measurement (CAM) arms and laser trackers, has recently announced the release of the new Quantum FaroArm. The new product is, according to the company, the first eight foot arm proven to measure accurately to within .018mm - the equivalent to a fifth of the width of a human hair.

This product allows manufacturers to perform 3D inspections of parts and assemblies on the shop floor. This helps eliminate manufacturing errors, and thereby increases productivity and profitability for a variety of industries, that according to David Homewood, FARO district manager for the UK, France and Distribution, “The new design will bring the existing benefits of Faro’s range to new sectors.”

Also, this new device aims to overcome the limitations of fixed coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and lower standard portable models, while providing a space-saving, accurate and efficient alternative. The device translates analysis to its laptop computer, simultaneously recording all the data, while illustrating the 3D measurements on screen. The sensor collects coordinates for x-, y- and z-axes, which can then be transferred into a variety of software packages for processing. In addition, there are a range of other features, which make the collection of 3D analysis and measurement data both easier and more efficient. Firstly, the new Quantum FaroArm offers “Bluetooth”, cable-free operation. It also offers mounting flexibility and reduced setup time and the benefits of “auto-sleep” mode, to save energy and extend component life, but the main benefit of the new system is its potential application to new fields as Homewood remarks.

The new technology was exhibited at the Autosport Engineering Show on January 10th and 11th. The two-day event, had areas representing engine testing, racing components, race shop tools and equipment, fuel systems, set-up equipment, electronics and hydraulics, among others.

Well, I think it is the application of scientific and mathematical principles tobe use in the design, manufacture, and operation of efficient and economical structures, machines, processes, and systems. Engineering also involves people, money, materials and energy.

2. What influenced you to pursue Industrial engineering?
At the beginning I really didn't wanted to study this carrer, I always thought in studying computer engineering. But I think I just liked the profile of an industrial engineer, and the possible work areas where he or she could work. Only then I made my mind and decided to study Industrial engineering.

3. Could you please describe the educational process required to become an Engineer?
It has a lot of maths, physics, economy, but in my carrer (industrial) it basically teach you how to think in order to make a better use of the resources.

4. What are the skills you need to be a good engineer?
You have to use a lot common sense, but you only get that with experience. In addition, you also need to be organized, proactive, honest, creative among others.

5. What job considerations were you looking for after you completed your education?
I'm thinking in working for a big factory, maybe working in an oil company, or anywhere where I like the job that I'm doing and where I can get a big paycheck at the end of the month, hopefully!

6. What's something of your school life that you enjoy the most?hanging out with my friends, going to parties, enjoy life without a lot of worries.

7. from your perspective, what is the most difficult part of being an engineering student?

Well, dealing with the stress of maths, I think that's the most difficult part.

Finish my carrer, get a good job, get married and have 2 children.

It was when I realized what can I do to improve processes, making better choises, and helping bussiness to be more efficient.

Well, that question is hard to answer, because I like what I'm studying but there are many engineers unemploy nowdays and you have to be a really good student o be really lucky to get a well paid job. But if is what you like.. GO FOR IT!

Hi, my name is Luis Godoy, I'm 20 years old. I live in Maracaibo, Venezuela, I'm studying Industrial Engineering at Rafael Belloso Chancín University. I like to listen to music a lot; almost every kind of it, but my favorite genres are rock and house. My favorite bands are: Incubus, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Audioslave, among many others that I can't remember right now... I also like to play tennis when I have the time, hang out with my friends, go to the movies and sleep a lot.
